Repair Damaged Hair

The sun not only causes damage to you hair, but if you color it, it can also cause the color to fade. The sun combined with the chemicals in hair dye dries hair out immensely. Drinking plenty of H2O can keep the body and hair moisturized, but sometimes you need a little extra help. Kiehl’s has a great product for that. It’s called Sunflower Color Preserving Deep Recovering Pak ($26). It hydrates your hair while preventing the color from fading.

This conditioner contains Sunflower oil and Apricot Kernel oil to help not only prevent damage, but also repair what’s been done. If you like the treatment you’ll probably also like their Sunflower Color Preserving Shampoo ($18 & $28) and Conditioner ($19 & $30) . The Kiehls products contain natural ingredients and go a long way protecting the skin and hair.

Detox Your Hair

Here’s a beauty quickie you can do at home. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got about 5 different bottles of shampoo in my bathroom right now. I’m always trying something new and I just don’t want to throw out a perfectly good bottle of shampoo. Add a teaspoon of vinegar to one of your shampoo bottles, shake it up and waah-laa! You now have your own homemade remedy shampoo that you can use once a week. Vinegar is good for removing build up and closing up hair cuticles, which is great for preventing split ends. The vinegar also helps remove scaly build up. If the scales on your hair cuticles lay flat, that gives your hair the chance to be shinier. Apple cider vinegar is a good choice for trying this out. You can also use plain white vinegar.

Get A Facial At Home

Skin care is important, but it doesn’t always have to cost you an arm and a leg. Feeling pampered and getting a facial can be done from the comfort of your home. Get a small towel that covers your face completely. Soak it in hot water and place the warm towel over your face for about five minutes. Using an exfoliator specifically for the face will help get rid of the dead skin. Doing so will give your face a healthy glow. Neutrogena has a couple daily facial scrubs that also help prevent breakouts. After exfoliating apply a mask that suits your skin’s needs. Sabon’s mud mask works like a vacuum. It’s based on mud and vanilla oils from the Dead Sea and sucks up all the dirt and oils from your face. It’s great for soothing combination and oily skin. If you have dry skin using it once every other week will be fine.

Give Origins Clear Improvement Mask a shot if you’re battle-ling major clogged pores. The mask has activated charcoal that works like a magnet while getting rid of the entire gunk that clogs your pores. It goes straight to work by clearing up everything that keeps your skin from looking its best. While the mud mask takes a few minutes to harden, the Clear Improvement mask instantly hardens in less than a minute. Both masks get the job done and will leave you with smoother skin.
