September 2010 Covers

Could it be, that the youth-obsessed era is coming to an end? Not exactly, but the September issues this year are being dominated by over 40 actresses. Julia Roberts is on the cover of ELLE, Jennifer Lopez is covering GLAMOUR, and Jennifer Aniston is on Harper’s Bazaar. It’s great to have these iconic ladies representing true stardom. They have real staying power, style and role models for women everywhere.

Here are the other lucky stars who snagged a September cover:

Kim Kardashian dishes on laser hair removal, playboy, and her infamous sex tape.

Halle Berry discusses how motherhood changed her life.

Mouth Full of Gold

First she rocked the Blue Pout, not she’s showing off her Gold tooth. Serious, what will Ke$ha do next? I’m all about gold, but not in my mouth. It’s something Flava Flav would be proud off. This style hopefully will not return. What will she do next?

Emma Watson’s Short Do

Harry Potter star, Emma Watson revealed her newest look. The dramatically shorter cut looks great on her. It’s sort of Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby. Here’s what she had to say about it,

“Dear all. Cut my hair off a few days ago… Feels incredible. I love it. I’ve wanted to do this for years and years; it’s the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like. Big love from Emma x”

I can only imagine how liberating it really does feel, but I won’t be cutting off my long locks any time soon. Don’t think I’d pull it off as well as Emma. What do you guys think of her new look?

Marc Jacobs Does Plus Size

Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy

Beauty comes in all sizes; not just sample sizes. There seems to be hope when high-end designers like Marc Jacobs is talking about adding a plus sizes to his line. At this point They are only talking; barely in the beginning stages. But Marc’s business partner, Robert Duffy, says making larger sizes is a go. Duffy spoke about how difficult he has it buying clothes because he’s so tall and hates the word “plus size”.

These photos are so breathtaking. Jennifer Aniston channels Barbara Striesand for Harpers Bazaar’s upcoming September issue. The photos are iconic from “Funny Girl’ and “What’s up, Doc?”  She tells the mag,

“People laugh at me. Sometimes I know why, and sometimes I don’t,… But I can pretty much find humor in anything. That is a necessary part of life. I don’t want to say laughter is healing, because it sounds corny, but it’s a release.”

Soon after the release of these photos, Barbara Striesand had only good things to say:

“I was very flattered that Jennifer Aniston chose to interpret my style with the photos in Harper’s Bazaar. She’s a delightful person, and I think she did a wonderful job. If only she had a bump on her nose.”

Megan Fox the Face of Armani Cosmetics

Megan Fox has been signed as the face of Giorgio Armani Cosmetics. Great choice on Armani’s. With a face like that who wouldn’t want to buy makeup from her? She went from modeling their underwear and jeans to now makeup. A spokeswoman for Armani reffered to Fox as “an iconic visionary’ and added,

“she embodies the spirit of the women of today: free, confident and seductive. Her beautiful features reveal femininity, sensuality and strength,”

Botox; How Young is Too Young?

What was once the rich and famous best kept secret weapon is now an everyday acceptance. Botox has come a long way and is now used as a solution for  many cosmetic problems. One of the most common uses of Botox is for the wrinkles and lines that appear with age.  Although wrinkles isn’t something the typical 18 to 20 something year old worries about, younger women and even teens are opting for a dose or two of the injection.

Filipino singer, Charice Pempengco’s career has skyrocketed after making appearances on Ellen DeGeneres’ and Oprah Winfrey’s talk shows. Now she’s preparing to make her debut on the hit show Glee by getting Botox injections and having an anti-aging procedure done. Charice said she wanted, “to look fresh on camera”. The baby-faced singer is 18, yet she looks about 13. How much more fresh and young-looking can you get at that age?

Charice looks as if she’s far from needing any Botox but her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, argued that is wasn’t for cosmetic reasons. Rosenberg said it was done for the muscle pain the singer was having. The procedure was even captured on cameras.

Katy Perry Perfume

Now here’s something to look forward to in the fall. Katy Perry will launch her first fragrance November 2010 called Purr. Personally owning at least 50 bottles of perfume, Katy knows a thing or two about what she’s doing. If Purr is anything like Katy’s personality, outfits and songs then this will be a girly fun perfume to look after. She says,

“I’m not embarrassed to say that I went out and bought [Beyoncé Knowles’ first scent] Heat and Kim Kardashian’s scent earlier this year. I’ve worn Clinique Happy, Ralph Lauren’s Romance and Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle. My sense of smell is so important to me. A guy can walk into an elevator wearing Acqua di Gio, and I’m immediately like ‘You’re my first boyfriend.’ I want my fragrance to have that effect on people.”

I say a makeup collection should be next, at least some sort of collaboration with MAC or Sephora. Katy has such a creative mind, and the collection would be the ultimate girly line.

Jennifer Aniston Releases Fragrance

Jennifer Aniston, the former Friends star, launched her first fragrance yesterday in London. The perfume’s name was changed last-minute from Lolavie to Jennifer Aniston. She didn’t want Lolavie to be confused with Marc Jacobs popular fragrance, Lola.

Jennifer spoke to Reuters Television about the last-minute name change,

“And at such a late hour, I didn’t want to postpone the launch so the only thing we could really clear (in terms of rights to perfume titles) was my name.”

Her self-titled fragrance was released at Harrods in London. Jenn, who has said in the past that she’s not really a perfume kind of person, describes why her perfume is different. She says it’s a combination of her favorite scents, “the ocean, sea air, blooming jasmine, and tropical oils.” Sounds like a sweet summer scent.

Imagine the bottle without the Lolavie.

2nd Kim Kardashian Fragrance in the Making

Kim Kardashian is working on her second fragrance, and she’s already started shooting for it. Here’s what she blogged:

“I am so excited to tell you guys that my second fragrance will launch in February of 2011!!!!! I wanted to let you guys know here first so you can all share the excitement with me :)”

I was so very disappointed with the first fragrance, but I have hope the second will be a lot better.  Above she’s at the photo-shoot for the new fragrance and she says the theme is Glamorous.
